Best Deep Sea Fishing Around the World

While fishing can be a relaxing pastime on still, quiet waters, deep sea fishing is an invigorating sport bound to get the blood pumping. No matter if you are a deep sea fishing enthusiast or just getting a taste of the sport, you must check these destinations off of your list of places to fish. Sail your own deep sea fishing yacht or charter a yacht when you arrive at your destination.

Phuket, Thailand. Phuket offers a wide array of fish for you to catch including sea bass, marlin, tuna, and many more. Enjoy the clear blue waters as you fight the trophy-sized fish as they are put in the boat. For ideal fishing, consider taking an excursion during July or October.

Cape Town, South Africa. If you are looking for tuna, you will find tuna fishing near Cape Town. Any time of year is suitable for fishing at this destination, but you will find the best yield of tuna between September and June.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. As the Marlin Capital of the World, Cabo San Lucas is the place to be if you are looking to catch the sport fish. Do not plan on keeping your catch if you fish for marlin, though. Cabo San Lucas has a strict catch and release policy on the fish, so bring your camera to remember the monster you real in. Limón and Puntarenas, Costa Rica. A wide variety of fish await you in Costa Rica. Depending on where you choose to drift, you can find mackerel, tuna, marlin, wahoo, rooster fish, and countless others. Steer clear of June and July when fishing in the Caribbean, and avoid September to November on the Pacific side of the Costa Rica.

Sicily, Italy. Sicily is the premier fishing spot of the Mediterranean. In Sicily’s crystal clear waters you will find tuna, swordfish, grouper, and amberjack among others. While in Sicily, take advantage of your opportunity to experience the exhilaration of spearfishing.

Victoria, Australia. It is quite simple: go to Victoria to fish for sharks. You will find a wide variety of sharks there including, but not limited to the great hammerhead, bronze whaler, and gummy shark. If you do not think fishing for sharks poses enough of a challenge for you, consider the fact that you will be fighting the Bass Straight waves while trying to reel in your catch.

Madeira, Portugal. Crowned as one of the best fishing destinations in the world, you are all but guaranteed to be pleased with the fish you will catch. Journey to Madeira between May and September for the best chance of catching blue and white marlins, shark, mackerel, or giant tuna.

Florida Keys, USA. Start your fishing expedition in the Florida Keys with Marquesas Keys located on the west coast of Key West. There you will find the premier spot to hook sharks and barracudas. For general fishing in the Florida Keys, visit between August and May, but do some research ahead of time to find out a more opportune fishing time for the fish of your choice.
